The aim of the association is to offer help and support to our members, promote the craft of Beekeeping to advance and educate the public in the importance of Honeybees to the environment…..
The Wakefield & Pontefract Beekeepers Association is a well established thriving organisation where the beginner and the expert can always learn something new. During the summer we have visits to our members own apiaries, and have practical demonstrations of swarm control, queen breeding, disease control and hive hygiene. We host our own association Honey Show at The Emley Show with a novice class, members and open sections. All our members are encouraged to enter their produce not just honey, we also have wax product, mead and cake classes.
The association has a library which is available to all WPBKA members, books are on a short term loan basis and can be picked up at winter meetings no charge is made for this service.
